Monterey Peninsula's Premier Real Estate Catalog
Monterey Coast Realty has been serving the greater Monterey Peninsula area since 2009. Over these 14 years, we've celebrated the benefits of living in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Most recently, we have highlighted the advantages of living in our friendly, healthy and vibrant community on the Central Coast. While we are all affected in one way or another by current macro-economic challenges, political battles, and ongoing health concerns, clearly our community remains protected from much of the more divisive problems that seem to be occurring in many major metropolitan markets.
This year, we continue to find numerous reasons to cherish our lifestyle on the Peninsula. Right now, a more measurable advantage is the relative strength of our real estate market. While we are frequently reminded of major real estate woes across the country, our local data appears to be holding stronger, especially regarding home values. Over the last 8 to 10 months, our market has experienced a significant reduction in the number of sales transactions: we are down approximately 50 percent in sales since the previous year. While this affects our total sales dollar volume, and we have experienced a reduction in home values, our overall relative home values seem to be holding stronger than most markets nationwide. For specific insight and more detail on local market results, please see the Monterey Coast Realty 2022 Annual Market Report, available at MontereyCoastRealty.com, or contact us with any questions.
As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, our company and agents often engage in hands-on support for the many important local nonprofits serving those in need on the Monterey Peninsula. In this edition of Monterey Coast Homes Magazine, we highlight some exciting new developments underway with the Veterans Transition Center of California, located on the former Fort Ord base in Marina. A new developing relationship forming between the VTC and Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula could dramatically increase the number of meals provided to the elderly and others, while simultaneously providing employable skills to veterans on their way to self-su?ciency.
At Monterey Coast Realty and sister company Carmel Realty Company, we cherish our team of professional REALTOR®s and like to share some of their other interests beyond real estate. In this issue, we feature one of our leading agents, Ed Bass. In addition to being a successful REALTOR® here in Monterey and previously in the East Bay area, Ed has had a fascinating career in baseball and is now sharing his expertise to help local high schoolers advance their skills while also gaining important life lessons.
As always, we showcase some of the notable homes our agents have sold and feature several outstanding properties that our company is currently offering for sale across the Peninsula. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if we can assist you or your friends and family with any real estate activity.
We hope you enjoy the magazine.
