Welcome to Marina

The small city of Marina can be found along the beautiful Monterey Bay, just north of more well-known central California cities like Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Unlike its more upscale neighbors to the south, Marina offers a more modest lifestyle, but with plenty of the same views as those communities further south. Marina State Beach is a large, sandy beach that has become a popular hot spot for kites, hang gliding and paragliding, the regular amounts of strong wind making it an ideal locale for these pursuits. Proximity to both the California State University campus and the Monterey College of Law have also made the city popular for students. Marina offers that sought after California lifestyle, without the hefty price tag.

The Marina Homes Market

The selection of Marina homes for sale is broad, offering everything from larger, single-family homes to more modest condominiums and single-level ranchers. Compared to the much higher price tags for homes in the nearby communities of Pebble Beach or Monterey, Marina offers some great value! Marina is a well-established community, so much of the available real estate is older, but has been lovingly maintained and updated with newer finishes but also one of the fastest growing areas for new builds.

East Garrison is an inviting new development located on Reservation Road east of Marina and west of the Salinas River. Just 5 miles from the foggy coast, it boasts a sunny near perfect climate. This premier planned community is built on land formally known as Fort Ord and designed with opportunities to live, shop, play, explore and enjoy in a village-inspired setting. Its 244 acres include distinct neighborhoods of new homes within easy strolling distance of a planned town center.

A city of just over 20,000 residents, Marina has been hailed as "one of the 100 best communities for young people" by America's Promise Alliance, and it's clear why. The thriving beach town provides great access to the area's universities, as well as some stellar recreation. This includes incredible water sports at the Marina State Beach, or for the ones who prefer land, the newly established Fort Ord State Park offers great hiking and mountain-biking. The Monterey Coast Recreational Trail is very popular for walking and running, and goes from Castroville, just north of Marina, along the Monterey Bay coastline all the way to Pacific Grove.

Marina Community Highlights:

  • Great access to both the University of California campus & Monterey College of Law.
  • A beautiful & protected natural landscape including Marina Beach State Park & Fort Ord State Park.
  • Affordable house prices, in a whole range of sizes & styles.
  • Just minutes north of central coast highlights like Pebble Beach & Carmel-by-the-Sea.
